About OXMF.

OXMF builds an open exposure model of the world's buildings. It is developed in the open with researchers, governments, NGOs, industry, and local communities.

What we do.

We estimate exposure at high resolution: building counts, structural value, occupancy, and the people inside. We work from global data down to individual buildings.

The model combines global and local data. Workflows are reproducible, assumptions are written down, and results are checked against other evidence.

How we work.

01

Open and reproducible

Open methods, clear data sources, and workflows that others can run.

02

Validated and transparent

Assumptions are documented. Outputs are compared with other data. Uncertainty is reported, not hidden.

03

Community-driven

Global and local data are combined. Local knowledge improves the model.

Who we work with.

OXMF develops the open exposure model together with these organisations.
